General Conference April 2017 Printables (part 1)

I wish I had a ton of General Conference printables for you today but I don't want to just throw something together or quickly scan over the talks.  Instead they will come slowly over the months and some will have an FHE plan as well. Also since May is a little different for Visiting Teaching (picking a conference talk) it makes making Visiting Teaching printables for this month impossible.  If you have a favorite quote please send it my way and I'll move it to the top of my list for printables this month. I do have a few for you and I really love them.  Feel free to print any of them.

Challenge from President Monson.  (Talk here).  I love every time I get to hear our prophet speak.  This is what I needed to hear.  (find our FHE Lesson that goes along with this talk here.)

Scripture from this talk (Bonnie H. Cordon).  I love this scripture and the talk is amazing.
Quotes from this talk.  I've  loved the word "Holiness" ever since I listened to this book (What Would a Holy Woman do?).  My cousin bought me the cd and I try to listen to it often.  This talk was really special as it explained in more depth what holiness is and how to be Holy.

That's it for today.

F is for Flower Letter Craft

I love letter crafts.  Its a fun way to start our new letter and introduce our theme. We've been working on the letter F and flower theme.  Its been a lot of fun.  I'll be sharing more of our crafts, activities, and even a really fun printable learning pack next week.

For this craft I free handed it (I guess cut it).  You'll need a large letter F, flower petals and center, leaves, and a pot.   I had everything cut a head of time.

Let your little one glue it together.  I gave a little guidance but for the most part let her put things where she wanted.
Its a fun way to learn and practice the letters.  We are putting finished letter crafts in a binder to create an ABC book.

Reading The Book of Mormon FHE

For FHE I shared a few of my favorite quotes from President Monson's recent General Conference talk and we discussed them as a family. You can find his talk here.  A few things I brought up is the need to gain our own testimony of The Book of Mormon and after we have one we need to "keep it vital and alive."  We then read his challenge to read daily and the blessing that come from doing that.

I created this print not just for our lesson but to be displayed in our home as a reminder to read daily.

To Print:
Click on the picture.  Right click to save to your computer.
Print at home or send it to your favorite place to print pictures.
If printing at home I like to copy and paste (or insert) in a word document.  Size and print on cardstock.
These are formatted to fit a 5x7 frame.

Next I showed my kids this reading chart that we will mark off as we go.  This one is for our family they also have individual ones in their Faith in God Binders.  I found this really cute one here.
Finally we pulled out our scriptures and had a  Book of Mormon read-a-thon.  We read together and ate cookies.
I really loved the simplicity of this FHE.  We were reminded of the Prophets counsel and took action to follow it.  I would like to say it went smooth and everyone loved it but I can't and that's okay.  It was one of those days where we had crazy toddlers running around and there was some pouting as well.  Maybe some of you can relate.  Family scripture study and FHE might not always go smoothly around here and sometimes I wonder if anyone is even listening but I know its important and they are learning more then we think.

Cuddly Crochet Unicorn

I am loving all of the adorable unicorn crafts I've been seeing lately.  This cute pattern from One Dog Woof Caught my eye a little while ago and I had to make it.  I love how it turned out.  I didn't make any changes to the pattern and it was overall really easy to follow.  I did have a little trouble with the mane but with a little tweaking it turned out great.

You can find the free pattern here.
