June Holiday Calendar

I am sorry we are already half way through the month but hopefully you can still find some fun holidays to celebrate with your family this month. I am excited to do something for International Picnic Day, Strawberry Parfait day, and of course Father's Day. I love using these calendars in the summer and get my kids involved in the planning. We always keep it simple and the focus is on spending time together as a family. A quick example is building log cabins out of blocks or take a nature walk and let your kids take some pictures. Super simple and fun! If you have a minute share some of your ideas or what you do in the comments :)

Free Come Follow Me Lesson Helps: Numbers 11–14; 20–24

I have some adorable activities to go with our chapters for Come Follow Me this week. We are covering Numbers 11-14, & 20-24. We have a cute "gratitude makes life sweet" craft. Use the single page or the cut and glue option (for this one you can add as many scoops of ice cream as you want.  In the center of the ice cream draw or write something you are thankful for. Maybe you can make an ice cream sundae as an object lesson or finish your lesson with a yummy sweet treat. To go with this theme we also have a fun ice cream match game. Print two on cardstock. You can also use these cards for your discussion. For example if someone gets the match with the pizza you can ask your family what food they are thankful for.

Next we have the story of Moses sending 12 men to find out more about the promised land. I've included some images to make story puppets, a spin and cover game, a cut and glue activity, and a drawing/journal page. On the journal page you can draw or write about a time you were afraid and having faith helped you. If you have questions about any of these activities please let me know. I'll try and add the instructions to the document but this will hopefully help for now. Have a wonderful week and thanks for stopping by :)

10 Commandments Match Game

I'm running out the door but wanted to get this to you before Sunday for those that need it.  It's a match game (print 2 on cardstock) with a coordinating coloring page. The idea is to use the cards like a regular match game but when a match is found you'll color the same picture on the coloring page. If you have tiny ones you may want to use just one set of cards. Flip over one card and find & color on the page.

Real quick: I want to make sure I am making things that are helpful to you.  Can you let me know if you are in need of activities for home or primary. What type of activities are you looking for-what types of activities do you use, anything you hope to see more of, or wish I would include? Any feedback would be super helpful and as always thank you so much for taking the time to stop by!

P.S. I am working on getting these out earlier again! Life is busy but I know the earlier I get them out the more of you can use them.

Faith Printable

As I was studying the story of Sarah this week I was reminded of this quote by Neal A. Maxwell, "Faith in God includes faith in his timing." It seemed so fitting. I can't imagine the challenge it must have been to continue to have faith and hope for a child as the years went on. It must have seemed impossible but she continued on in faith. She is a remarkable example.

Free Come Follow Me Lesson Helps: Genesis 18-23

I have some fun ideas for this week's Come Follow Me lesson.  We are covering Genesis 18-23 and will be learning more about Abraham and Isaac. I love the scripture "is anything to hard for the Lord?" It would be a great one to memorize and help your kids memorize.  There is so much power and comfort in these words. Also don't forget to check out the additional ideas link. These are some fun activities I've created over the years that would work really well with the topics this week.  *If you have another topic you are looking for the search bar is at the top of your page or feel free to ask me.  I don't always see comments right away so emailing me is another great options.  I hope you have a wonderful week.

Free Come Follow Me Helps: Prayer and Peacemaker

I've been sick and haven't had a chance to read this week's Come Follow Me chapters yet.  I am hoping to make a few activities in the next couple of days but I also don't want to get behind so I may skip this week.  We'll see how it goes.
However as I was looking through some of the topics I do have some fun ideas already on my blog that may work for you. Here's what  I found:
Prayer
(fun activities and a cute story about Heavenly Father hearing our prayers) https://www.thecozyredcottage.com/2020/03/come-follow-me-enos-words-of-mormon.html

Peacemaker

Update New Ideas: I had a few minutes and created a couple of activities for this week that go with some of the topics in the primary manual.  It's not the prettiest post or download but the activities are still cute :) I didn't have enough time to add the instruction pages and images to the post like I normally do (I hope to get to this later this week). I just really wanted to make sure you had these.  So here's what's included: Coloring page that goes with "Jesus Christ will lead me by the hand." I thought it would be really fun to create a mini obstacle course in your living room or classroom.  Blindfold one person and let them try to make it to the other side of the room unassisted.  Then try again with another person leading them by the hand.  Ask follow up questions about the experience and what it means for Jesus to lead us by the hand.
I also shared a link for a beautiful song that would work well for this theme called "His Hands." Have you heard this one before? I remember hearing it as a teen and my dad sharing that it was one of his favorites. It's one of mine too.
The last activity is an "I am a Peacemaker" heart necklace.  Your kids can color the heart, hole punch the top, and add it to some string. *Want to make this activity last a little longer? String some beads or cereal to on each side of the necklace.  If using yarn wrap a little tape to the end to keep it from fraying and it makes it easier for little ones to slide their beads or cereal on the string.

I am excited to share the February holiday calendar with.  There are 28 fun and unique holidays that you will love celebrating with your family this month.  A few of my favorites are National Muffin day, National Pizza Day, Pay a Compliment Day, and of course Valentine's Day. I would love to know which ones you plan to celebrate.  We don't celebrate all of them but still love to just check the calendar everyday. The days and weeks seem to fly by and this is one way we slow down and connect even if its just for a minute.

Come Follow Me Free Lesson Helps: Genesis 6-11 & Moses 8

This week we are learning more about Noah's Ark and The Tower of Babel during our Come Follow Me study.  One of our favorite activities we've done in the past was to bring out pillow and blankets to build our own boat. This would be perfect for Noah's ark and something your family will enjoy and remember. You can find all of the activities for this week in the free download.  These are perfect for families or primary.  I think my favorite activity is helping Noah gather the animals as we learn more about some of the things our prophet, President Nelson, has taught us over the last few years.  Have a wonderful week.
