I can Show Love for Animals (Primary 2 Lesson 44) Free Primary Helps

Lesson 44 I can show love for animals found here.  This is such a fun lesson to end the year.  I've added a few lesson helps that go right along with the activities in the book.  I hope there is something here that you can use for your class.  I'm working on the Christmas lesson and it will be posted some time next week and that's it for this book!  I just started looking over next years Come Follow me curriculum and I am so excited about it.  I think I am going to to share some ideas for primary as well as some ideas we are going to use at home (my kids range from 9 months to 13 so there will be a variety of ideas).  I think there will be a little trial and error as I figure out the best way to plan and share these ideas.   If you have any suggestions, requests, or something you think would be a nice addition please let me know :)  

Noah's Ark Animal match game (Attention activity):  There are 12 cute animals.  Print 2 (preferably on cardstock).  Cut and you are ready to play.

 For a little extra fun print out Noah and his boat.  Cut the entrace out.  As the kids find a match let them help the animals board the ark :)

 I placed the boat in front of an open box but anything that will hold it up straight will work.

 The cards fit perfectly if turned at an angle.

 We like to do activities like this during preschool and my kids LOVE it!

Activity: I thought the little action verse was cute.  I create a coloring page to go along with it.  That way the kids can remember the words and show their parents.  You can keep it as a coloring page or cut along the lines and staple to make a mini book.

The last one goes with enrichment activity #4.  The guessing game. The idea is to read the clue, let them guess and then open the "door" to see if they are correct.  *I did change the wording of the robin clue slightly because I didn't have a picture of a robin.  So the answer is bird :)

To make print both pages.  Set the animal picture one aside.

Carefully cut cut the 2 short edges and 1 of the long edges of each box to create little doors.  I used an exacto knife but you can try scissors it just might not be as pretty :)

Glue the question game directly on top of the animal picture page.  The doors and animals should line up.  If the doors are opening too much after being cut you might want to add a little piece of tape to keep the closed until you are ready to open them.  

*If creating doors really isn't working for you here are a couple of other ways you can use these prints.  1) cut the squares out completely and glue the animal picture to the back.  Flip it over to reveal the answer.  2) Glue the question to an envelope and place the animal picture inside the envelope.  3) For younger kids lay all of the animal pictures on the table or floor face up.  Read the clue and have them look for the correct animal.  If you have some other ideas please leave them in the comments :)

Free Christmas Printables O Come let us Adore Him

I have a couple new FREE printables for you today. I love these and this quote.  Rustic/Farmhouse or chalkboard.  Its hard to decide.  I think Printables make decorating for the holidays so easy and quick. Pretty much the best thing :)  Pick your favorite, print, and frame. They are all sized as 8x10 prints.

  I decided to make things extra easy today.  To get your free printable click on the picture.  Right click and save to your computer or copy and paste in a word document.  Again these are sized to fit an 8x10 frame.  However you can always insert into a word document and resize to fit your needs.

Print from home or send to your favorite print shop.

Jesus Christ will Come Again (primary 2 Lesson 43) Primary Lesson Helps

Here are some fun activities to go along with Lesson 43, Jesus Christ will Come Again.  (You can find the lesson here)

Review Activity:  I decided to go with a Christmas theme :)  Print the tree and the sheet of ornaments and question page (optional).  Cut around the ornaments and star.  These go with the 5 questions in the lesson.  I did add some extra ornaments for those with larger classes.  You will need to come up with additional questions for the extra ornaments used.  

Before class hide the ornaments around the room.  Have the kids take turns hunting for them.  When one is found ask the coordinating question.  Once answered correctly glue or tape the ornament to the tree.

 Game & Enrichment Activity Number 3- Share the Parable of the 10 Virgins and quote (included in the download).  Explain that as we follow Christ we are adding drops oil to our lamps and preparing for Christ's return just like the women in the parable.  Play the following game.
Prepare: Print one board (lamp) per person, (black and white , and 2 per page option now included), Print and cut the cards.  Place the cards in a bag and mix them up.  You will also need to bring something to cover the circles ex. m&ms, cereal, or even buttons.

 To play pass out a lamp to each person.  Take turn drawing a card.  If it is a good action "add a drop of oil" to the lamp (cover one of the circles with the candy or item you brought).  If the action is not good then no action is taken and move on the the next turn.  Keep playing until everyone fills their lamps.

For the older classes I included a couple of zap cards.  If you draw this one then you have to clear your board!  There are also a few blank ones in case you want to add some of your own.

Enrichment Activity #4:  And here is a cute coloring page with space to draw a picture of how they can prepare for the second coming.  I did necklaces last week so I thought I would keep it simple.

Here's a cute idea found on Chicken Scratch N Sniff (She also has a really cute coloring page): Have some fun by challenging your class to drop "oil" into their jars. Grab a jar and some clothespins. As each person says one way they can prepare for Christ's second coming, they get to hold one clothespin at their nose and try to drop it into the jar. 

Happy Thanksgiving & primary lesson update.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.  We've been enjoying our time together watching movies, playing games, and eating way to much food.  I just wanted to pop in and let you know how thankful I am for all of you! 
Also I have not finished the next primary lesson yet...I think most of you are at least one or 2 behind.  For those that are not I'm sorry.  I should have it up early next week and the last lesson at the end of the week!  Can you believe it?!?!  I'll post the Christmas lesson the week after.  Enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend :)

The Church of Jesus Christ is on the Earth (Primary 2 Lesson 42) Primary Lesson Helps

I can't believe we are almost out of lessons and before we know it the year will be over!  I'm going to start looking over and getting a feel for the new curriculum and figure out how I'm going to share those lesson helps.  Let me know if you are interested in just primary or ideas to use in your home as well. 

Alright here are some primary lesson helps for Lesson 42 The Church of Jesus Christ is on the earth (found here.)  A big chunk of the lesson is the picture activity-I plan to follow that pretty closely so I did not include anything extra for that.  When I read over this lesson it reminded me of President Nelson's talk this past conference.  I have included a way to use that talk as well.  We will being using that idea for FHE this upcoming week.  I link to that when its up as its posted.

Attention Activity- Here's a map that is used during different parts of the lesson.  Print the page and cut out the pieces at the bottom.  When it talks about the Holy Lands tape the cut out of Jesus to the map.  Same with Joseph Smith.  I also included an image of a house that would be fun to put your location on the map.  Then the hearts are to be used when you discuss where the church is located now.  I placed mine randomly. If you want more precise locations tape your image off to the side a little and draw a line with a star on the exact location.  You can also draw on the map as they are telling you different locations they know.  Here's an example of what the finished map will look like. 

Scripture- a cute poster that can be displayed during the lesson.

Enrichment Activity #1: After you practice the 6th article of faith they can work on this word search.

Enrichment Activity #2: There are a couple of options. 

Coloring page with space to draw a picture of themselves. 

Necklace-Print and cut out.  Let the kids color.  Punch a hole in the top and use some string or yarn to make a necklace.  For a little extra fun bring some fruit loops and let them add "beads" to their necklace.

3rd Coloring Page option.  I thought the older kids might enjoy decorating the letters and display their finished page in their room.

As i mentioned in the beginning this lesson reminded me of President Nelson's General Conference talk.  Then as I opened the friend this month I saw This great page.  I took the wording from the friend and turned it into a game.  To start-if possible read or play some of President Nelson's talk.  I love to use any chance I can to have the children hear the prophet speak. There are a few different spots that would work well.  One suggestion would be after the first list where it says "Joseph Smith did not name the church..." Okay now on to the game. You will need to print the picture of the prophet, the question and answer cards, and the 5 quote bubbles.

Cut the question cards apart.  Mix them up and set them in a pile.

Cut out the Answer cards and glue to the back of the corresponding quote bubble.  

Place the quote bubbles with number side facing outward on a wall or the floor.  Now you are ready to  play.  Have two players stand next to each other (in front of the numbers or across the room...you pick).  Draw a card and read the question, then the number below it.  Have to two people race to find the correct number and slap it.  The first person it hit it wins.  Read the answer on the back and place next to picture of President Nelson.  There is not a question card for number 5.  It is a quote from the talk.  You can have someone pick it up and read it or you can have them race to it as well.

Pumpkin Counting Mat

Here's the next adorable counting mat.  I love making one for each season.  You can find the others here)

This time we have a pumpkin counting mat. Don't you love the tractor?!?

 Print the board and the numbers (0-10 included).  Place one number in the square and add the correct number of pumpkins to the wagon.  For pumpkins you can use pompoms, play-dough, erasers, candy, etc.  To increase the difficulty (& add some extra fine motor practice) add some tongs.

Letter T mini books (free printables)

We love using these mini letter books.  I like to print and use it as a coloring book and we read it all week.  

I also included these cute cards.  I am printing and hanging them on our wall for the week.  I'm planning on making some for each letter.
