Free Baby Girl Monthly Milestone Stickers

Sometimes I wish I could freeze time.  It flies by so fast and there is something about a baby that makes it seem to go even faster.  Well maybe the sleepless nights feel like the will never end.  Its at this stage in life that I like to have my camera ready at a moments notice to capture every little change.

The funny thing is I'm convinced when I look through those pictures I'll always remember the details, ages, and dates.  I've found that is not the case.  That is one reason I love the idea of the monthly milestone stickers.  Its an easy way to document you little ones age and how much they grow during the first year.

To make you own download my free set of stickers here.  Print on label or sticker paper.  Cut around each circle and store until needed.

Then each month grab the coordinating sticker, peel of the back and stick it on your little ones shirt.  (A white onesie is ideal but not necessary).

Then take a picture or two so you'll always remember how little they were at each age.

I also included an extra page for the first month because they change so quickly.

This would make a cute baby shower gift as well.  Have them cut and ready for the mom to be and add a set of onesies to help her get started.

Fox cuteness!

I had a request for a fox sweater that I never posted.  (unless you follow me on facebook then you might have seen it) I love custom orders because I get to be creative but there is a little anxiety because you never know if they will like it.  I think this one turned out pretty fun. (I altered a pattern from this cute shop)
and the full set

I had a recent etsy order for one of my fox newborn sets and thought I would share a little from my shop.
Here's the fun photos from Red Barn Photography of this prop in action.

Easy baby quilt

I used 2 charm packs (40 5" squares).
This cute girl helped me place them.
I sewed the squares together and added a minky back.  Perfect for our new little one.

My favorite baby headband

I forgot to meniton I guest posted for Crafty Mommy Diva last week.  She is having a baby shower full of giveaways and tutorials right now.  Here's what I shared.

When I was trying to decided what I wanted to make for this post I kept thinking...what is something all baby girls need?  Headbands and bows!  There are tons of adorable bows out there but if your little one doesn't have much hair they are kind of useless.  So I'm going to show you how to make your own interchangeable headband.
Here's one on my baby (she's almost three now!)
You need a pair of girls tights-the bigger the better.
Cut one leg off-above the heel and at the top.
Pin the two ends together
sew.  You can also do this by hand and if you don't have access to a needle and thread hot glue might work.  I've never tried it so please don't be mad at me if it doesn't :)
Turn it right side out
Pinch together
Cut a piece of ribbon about 3 inches long.  glue one end to the back of the seam.
Wrap around and glue the end to the back of the headband.
That all there is to it.
Now clip all your cute bows onto the ribbon.

It makes it easy to accessorize any outfit.

It's perfect for your tiny newborn
and will continue to grow with your baby.
Thanks for having me today.  Its been a lot of fun.  Stop by my blog anytime.  I love meeting new friends.

baby keepsake frame

I've noticed over the years that I quickly forget how little my girls use to be and I wanted a way to always remember when they were born.  So I came up with this cute way to display their newborn pictures and all of their birth stats (what mother doesn't love those two thing?)
Here's what I came up with.
Here's how I made it.  I bought an 8x10 frame with a matte.  (Matte optional but helpful.)  My frame is from Walmart for $2.50

I painted the frame white
 Then distressed it with sandpaper.
I picked out some scrapbook paper that matches their room.  Use the matte as a template and trace around it on the back of your paper.  (If you don't have a matte you can measure and cut one out).  Then cut it out.

Here's your two pieces.  Then glue your scrapbook paper on your matte.
I sanded the inside edges of my paper to make it look a little more smooth.
Now choose a picture (both of mine are from the day they came home).  You can do this next part in any program you want.  I used Microsoft word.  I opened a new document and pasted my picture.  I cropped and sized it to 5x7.  Then insert a text box.  Type in your information, change font, size, etc.  Then remove fill in box and remove outline.  Change color and move it to the spot you want it.

It will look like this
Print your photo on photo paper and cut it out.

Assemble your frame and you now have a beautiful keepsake of you sweet little one.

Here's a close up of each

Fabric High Chair

Olivia has out grown her high chair (continued to stand and wouldn't eat in it) and is now at the regular table-problem she is too tiny to see her food if she is sitting and she is so wiggly a phone book makes me nervous. She stands or sits and has fallen off a few time (one right on her head and I about had a heart attack). We've been trying to come up with the best solution and nothing has worked. I saw this idea on homemade by Jill awhile ago and finally made it. I like the idea because she can still sit at the table with us, she will be safe sitting on a book, and now she will be able to see her food without having to stand.

Jill gives some instructions as to how she made it but its not a full tutorial so I thought I would share how I made mine. Also my measurements are slightly smaller than hers.  Chairs vary so if yours has spaces further apart you will want to add some length to your straps.

You need:
a little less then 1/2 yard of 2 coordinating fabrics.
Velcro (mine is 6" long)
batting
sewing machine and thread

Start by cutting out your pieces -cut one from both fabrics and your batting
strap- 6"x38"
connector piece-5 1/2" x 4"
base- 19"x10"
It should look like this
sandwich your pieces by placing fabrics right sides together and the batting on top. Pin together.
Sew three sides of the connector piece (leave one of the short end open) Pull your fabric through and top stitch the two long sides.

sandwich the strap pieces together (like the connector piece) mark where your connector piece will go (this will also be your opening for turning your fabric). Sew around your strap-curve your corners if you want. pull the fabric through

place your connector piece in the opening and pin in place (make sure you fold down the edges of the strap). top stitch around the strap sewing the connector piece in place and close the opening.

Sandwich and sew your base piece leaving an opening at the top (short side) for the connector piece. Pull fabric through, pin connector piece in place and top stitch around.

pin your Velcro on each side of the straps . Sew in place.
Its an easy project and Livy loves it. Lets hope the excitement lasts awhile. This is also perfect to take on trips.
