June is officially here, and for many of us, that means the start of summer break! Well, for us it's just around the corner, but we are already in full summer mode!
For me, summer is all about family time and making memories. But let’s be honest, it’s not always sunshine and rainbows. Somehow, the “I’m bored” starts up quickly, and screens appear more than I’d prefer.
That’s where our monthly holiday calendar comes in. It’s my way of adding a little extra creativity to our days. It gives us an idea to break the routine and spark creativity, sometimes it's a quick 5-minute activity, and other times a full-blown theme day (my favorite!).
For example, Donut Day could be as simple as picking up a box of your family’s favorite donuts and calling it a win. If we’re feeling more adventurous, we might make our own donuts at home, surprise a friend with a delivery, create donut-themed crafts, or even set up a pretend donut shop complete with pretend playdough treats.
There’s no wrong way to celebrate, just lots of opportunities to connect and make sweet memories together.
