I have a cute freebie for your little ones today!  These clip cards are a fun way to practice counting and number recognition.  They will count the number of hearts and clip a clothespin on the correct number.  There are cards for numbers 0-10.  To prep print either on cardstock or laminate for durability.  Cut the cards apart.  Super quick and easy.  My preschoolers have been loving clip cards and hope your kids do too :)

You can find this FREEBIE in my TPT store.  If you do not have a Teachers Pay Teachers account I highly recommend it!  It's free to sign up (you don't have to be a teacher) and you will find tons of amazing resources for teaching your kids.  Lots and lots are free!

Free Unicorn Bingo (Numbers 1-20)

Practice number recognition with this adorable unicorn bingo game!  We are working on numbers 1-20 and this game is so fun your little one won't even mind playing over and over. My little one LOVED it!

Download the free bingo cards below (there are 10 different boards). There is also a set of calling cards (color and b&w option). I printed my boards 2 to a page but you can print them as a full sheet.  Laminate and cut bingo boards apart if needed and calling cards.

Place the calling cards in a bowl or bag.  We used "rainbow puffs" aka mini marshmallows as markers.

First person to get 4 in a row wins!

Make it a little harder and let your little one call out the numbers.  This will give you an idea of the numbers they recognize and the ones they need a little extra help with.  I think I heard a "fiveteen" in there :)

Rainbow Soup

Rainbow Soup is a fun, interactive way to practice colors and several math concepts such as counting, one-to-one correspondence, and sorting.

To play you'll need:

  • the recipe cards included in the download
  • the 10 frame (optional) included in the download
  • a pot, bowl, or something to put your soup in.  I used a cauldron from Halloween but I've heard you can find them this time of year too.
  • a spoon
  • manipulatives for each color.  I used foam blocks and pom poms.
  • optional-tongs for extra fine motor practice and a container to hold your color manipulatives.

There are several recipe cards included.  Every card has 2 colors and clouds.  They all add up to 10.
I included a 10 frame that works as a way to self-check their work.  They place each ingredient into one of the squares to make sure they have the correct number of ingredients.  If there is an empty box they will know to go back and check their work.  You do not need to use the ten frame, you can have them count their ingredients and make sure it adds up to 10.

After the ingredients are ready dump them into the pot and stir to make rainbow soup!

Then the kids empty the pot, put the colors and clouds back by sorting, and grab a new card.

You can also have them create their own recipes!  Set some paper out and add a writing element to this activity.

Reindeer Math game and I spy reindeer colors

Yesterday I shared an adorable reindeer color match game and as promised here are 2 more activities to use with the match pieces (reindeer and candy) you cut out.

The first game is a fun guessing game that will introduce your little ones to subtraction or counting up, counting down from 10, etc.  You will need one of the reindeer (pick any color and name him) and all 10 pieces of candy.  Have your child close their eyes and hide some candy under the reindeer.  When they open their eyes have them guess how many pieces of candy the reindeer ate.  You can let them guess or show them some different strategies to reach the correct number.  For older kids you can also have them say or write the equation. For the example below I would say we only have 4 pieces of candy left so Rudolph ate 6!  10-4=6

No new printables needed for this one...If you printed the match game then you are ready to go.  If not you can find it here.

The second activity focuses on colors.  Use the reindeer you cut out from the match game and hide them around the room. When your child finds one have them yell out the color.  For some extra practice print this cute I spy... page.  Once a reindeer is found have them locate the color that matches their reindeer's nose and cross it off.  I like to laminate it and use white board markers to make it reusable.  If you have a clipboard use it!  My kids love carrying their I spy sheets around on a clip board.

Download the I spy... page here.  Again the reindeer can be found in this post :)

Check back tomorrow for some more Christmas Preschool printables!!!

Candy Corn Counting Mats

Counting mats are a fun way to help your kids practice number recognition and counting skills.  Add a little Halloween fun and fill the jars with candy corn.

Download Here and print on cardstock.  I like to laminate mine.  You can also create a file folder game by glue the two pages into a folder.
