Valentine Don't Eat Pete (monsters and llamas)

This post contains affiliate links. That means if you use my link, I make a small commission at no extra cost to you. As always, thank you for your support.

You may have noticed we love the game Don't Eat Pete.  Its a fun game that kids LOVE to play.  I mean who doesn't love candy?!?  But it also teaches sharing, working together, taking turns, and so many other social skills. I've included 2 different boards today that work with a Valentine theme.  They may not seem like the obvious choice for a Valentine's Day theme but who doesn't love llamas and adorable monsters.

If you've never played here's a quick how to:  Print off the board game...cardstock works best.  Place one piece of candy (candy corn, m&m's, Cheerios, or whatever you have) on each llama.  Send one person to out of the room and quietly decided which one is going to be Pete (or Val) for that round.  Lets say you pick the one in the center.  Have the person come back into the room and eat one of the pieces of candy off each character UNTIL they pick up the one chosen as Pete (in this case the one in the center).  When they pick up this candy everyone yells "Don't eat Pete!" and their turn ends.  Add candy to the ones taken on the last turn and play as many times as you want picking a new Pete each time.

I've also included a sweet Monster Edition of Don't Eat Pete because there are some cute monster books that go perfect with Valentines.  We have The Tickle Monster but  Love Monster would also work perfect.
Print and you are ready to play

Reversible Valentine's and St. Patrick's day Blocks

I have a quick project for you and lets just call it the lazy way to get an awesome distressed look with half the work.
You can do this with any sign but I thought it would be fun to use some 4x4 blocks I had laying around and turn them into reversible Valentine's and St. Patty's day decor.  I love when I have something that is quick to change for the season and even better less to store.

Sand and paint your blocks.
I used chalk paint but any kind will work.
Size and cut your vinyl.  Apply to your blocks.
Front
 Back
Paint a thin coat of the same color of paint directly over your vinyl.
 Let it dry
Using a piece of sandpaper gently sand the paint off your vinyl.  It will give your vinyl a matte look and leave some paint making it look hand painted and distressed instead of vinyl.
You can sand some of your block too for a great overall distressed look.
You can also lightly rub some dark wax along the edges and a few spots on your wood.  I used the edge of a paper towel to apply it.  Once it drys sand to give it a more even look.

I tied some tulle around the blocks to give it a little more color and just switched the color out for each holiday.

Free Valentine's Day Bingo

There are a few games my kids LOVE and Bingo happens to be one of them.  We had such a great time with our Christmas Bingo that I knew a Valentine's Day one needed to happen.   It's a fun addition to any family fun night, class or family party, etc. I used it at Activity Days and the girls had a great time. I included 10 different boards so you can have multiple players.

We used Valentine M&M's for markers and have fun eating them as well!  I printed mine on cardstock for durability.  Laminating would be a good idea if you have that option so they will last for years.

There are 2 pages of calling cards as well.  Print on cardstock, cut, and your ready to play.
As a bonus you can always print 2 sets of calling cards for an adorable Match Game.

Ribbon Heart Wreath

This project was previously posted on my old craft blog.  It is such a cute and fun wreath that I still use!  It's one of those great projects that you can do in front of a show or even have your kids help.
--------------------------------------------------
I love my new wreath. Its so fun and was super easy. I found the idea here then changed it a bit to fit what I already had.
You need:
a metal hanger
some needle nose pliers
Ribbon
tulle (optional but makes it really cute)

I first shaped my metal hanger into a heart (this is where my needle nose pliers and husband came in handy-the top part was a little tough)
Tie on ribbon and tulle until its full. Cut any long pieces. Tie ribbon in a loop to hang.
